I still have several Gaara fanarts laying around that need to be finally finished someday.
Drew most of this at work sometime last year, finished his left (his right, actually) arm and legs the other day. In my own little Gaara-fan world, I had liked the idea that some time after Shukaku got extracted, he and Gaara meet up again, and Shukaku allows himself to become Gaara's summon. Being a tanuki, Shuka can transform and change his size as he pleases. When appearing after being summoned, he often prefers a much smaller size and wears some traditional clothing. *yeah I'm lame, lol* I have another sketch that I drew a couple years ago, a pic where Gaara has invited Shukaku to a festival in Suna; again with a smaller, clothed Shuka. And Gaara without the black around his eyes, at last! I may post that one too.
Here, instead of wiping a streak of blood across a summoning scroll, Gaara has perched on his gourd and drew the blood across that instead. He is also holding the Shukaku Spear, though I never finished that part of the sketch. Yeah, the spear is from the filler, but I liked it. ^ ^;;
I debated on posting this.. A couple months ago or so, I was browsing DA and came across someone's pic of Shukaku sitting in the exact same pose. A few days ago I tried searching for it. I searched over 1,000 pics of Shukaku, but I can't find it again! Has anyone else seen it? It's weird- a few of my Gaara fanarts, after drawing them I later find other Gaara fanarts by other people that look almost identical. Wth..! x___x;; It makes me uncomfortable..
Coool, shading!!! And I've missed your Gaara drawings!! ^___^ Hee hee!! I love how Shukaku looks menacing, but SANE! O_O
I feel ya with those drawings and other people already have the poses or ideas drawn. -_- This happened rather recently to me, too. Except I didn't get to draw my character before I saw that such a character design AND pose was drawn.
Awesome sensei! Great pose and so much detail! I see that this is a WIP due to Gaara's hand. Looks awesome so far though! I love Shikaku's feet and hands.

Yeah, you're right. I get so frustrated I then forget to actually DRAW the picture regardless. It's no good if I never see the outcome!
